Truth Be Told | Anthony Lee Medina On His Character Ramon [Exclusive Interview]

Truth Be Told

Oh, the twists and turns season two of Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told has given us. We follow Poppy Parnell, played by the very talented actress Octavia Spencer. After all the trouble that she got into in the first season, you’d think she would slow down. But that is not the case. In the second season, she now dives deep into a new case that involves her childhood friend, media mogul, Micah Keith. She is played by Kate Hudson.

What is interesting to me about Truth Be Told is how as the cases unfold, Poppy is podcasting. Sharing all sorts of information with the world. While gaining her a large audience, I wonder if it’s unethical? Or if there is even such a thing in the world of podcasts. In the first season of the series, we see that her worlds even lead to one of the characters committing suicide.

In season two of Truth Be Told we focus on Micah Keith and the mysterious death of her husband. In learning about her we also meet her personal assistant Ramon, played by Anthony Lee Medina. Things get really heated when Micah starts to suspect Ramon of foul play. Leading Ramon to have an outburst of emotion. Something that we saw in the exclusive clip from the series that we posted earlier this fall.

LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with Anthony Lee Medina about his role in the series. During our conversation, we talk about Ramon and his past. We try and connect the dots as to why his character reacts the way he does during those difficult moments in the series. It’s a great conversation that you can check out down below!

Descending into the world of true-crime podcasts, season two follows Octavia Spencer as podcaster Poppy Parnell, who risks everything—including her life—to pursue truth and justice. Poppy dives into a new case that deeply involves her childhood friend, media mogul Micah Keith (Hudson). As developments unfold, their lifelong friendship is put to the ultimate test.

In addition to Hudson, joining the sophomore season are series regulars Christopher Backus, Alona Tal, David Lyons, Andre Royo, Merle Dandridge, and Mychala Faith Lee. Returning cast includes Mekhi Phifer, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Katherine LaNasa, Michael Beach, and Tami Roman. “Truth Be Told” is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and produced by Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. Serving as executive producers alongside Spellman are Octavia Spencer; Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine; Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for Chernin Entertainment; and Mikkel Nørgaard.
