Good golly, miss Molly. Sony’s Uncharted seems to be on the level of films like The Crow when it comes to simply not getting made. This thing’s had more directors than Justice League, only at least Justice League actually made it out the front door and into theaters — for better and for worse. More recently, it sounded like Uncharted was on the way to the big screen with Bumblebee helmer Travis Knight in the director’s chair.
Not anymore. According to Deadline, the video game adaptation — which has Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg attached — has lost Knight somewhere along the way. This time, it’s apparently due to a schedule situation.

Sources told the outlet that Sony is pushing the production timeline for the film in order to accommodate its stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, but Knight is the casualty that is set to be lost. As of this writing, they still plan to go forward with the film, but honestly, who knows, am I right? Maybe by the time the movie gets made, Holland will actually be the right age.
Under normal circumstances, I’d say the scheduling excuse is a load of bull, but given that this comes from a leak and NOT an official statement, I’m more inclined to believe it. Either way, they have a draft from Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins and Iron Man’s Art Marcum & Matt Holloway in the can, so we’ll see if it goes anywhere.
