The Irish folklore has some of the most memorable legendary creatures that are still talked about today from leprechauns to unicorns and the dastardly goblins. In Unwelcome, a couple soon finds out that the legends of goblins (redcaps) are real and quite bloodthirsty.
The film stars Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ready Player One), Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Jupiter Ascending), and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Layer Cake). Jon Wright directed the movie from the script written by Mark Stay and Wright.
Here is the full synopsis:
A couple escapes their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland only to hear stories of mysterious beings who live in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. As warned by their new neighbors, in Irish lore the Redcaps will come when called to help souls in dire need of rescue, but it’s crucial to remember that there is always a dear price to pay for their aid.

Fans of bloody feature creatures should be delighted with a horror film like this. Although the trailer barely reveals the goblins themselves, it is an original tale of these mythical evil creatures that oftentimes haunt stories in Irish lore.
Unwelcome is in select theaters on March 10 and follows with a digital release on March 14.
