US Agent will finally make his MCU debut later this month in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also known as John Walker, the character will be played by Wyatt Russell.
In the comics, US Agent has been a staple since 1986. Though he has gone by many names, John Walker has played the role as both friend and foe. He’s even officially been Captain America before.
The Direct has access to the Spring 2021 issue of Disney’s D3 Magazine. In an article, the cast goes into greater detail about what to expect from US Agent in Disney+’s second series.
Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky aka The Winder Soldier, had this to say:
When you think about the world today, and the character of John Walker and what he represents in the comics, he very much makes sense in the series. John Walker might tap into a few things people expect from that character, but I think there might be another side to that character that people haven’t seen or expected.

One expects US Agent to be more foe than friend in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Even if Walker has the best of intentions, it seems like the US Government has chosen him as the next Captain America. This would come in direct conflict with Steve Rogers appointing Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Russell also spoke, but instead of discussing his character, he has become the latest actor to show complete trust in Marvel Studios:
You don’t know a lot when you take the role, so you have to trust them. If you’re going to take a leap of faith, you do it with the best people, and the best people are at Marvel.
Personally, I’ve very excited to see U.S. Agent in the MCU, but what about you?
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres March 19 on Disney+.
