Uyoata Udi, Julian Elijah Martinez and Marcus Callender are part of the cast in Wu-Tang: An American Saga season two on Hulu. A series that gives a backstory of how the popular 1990’s group Wu-Tang Clan was able to find success in rap music when it didn’t seem possible.
The Synopsis
The Clan is disillusioned with life in the projects, and Bobby (Ashton Sanders, “Moonlight”) knows that success in the music industry could be their ticket to better lives. But getting the Clan members to drop everything for music isn’t easy. The resentment between Dennis (Siddiq Saunderson, “Messiah”), Sha (Shameik Moore, “Spider-Man: Intro The Spider-Verse”), Power (Marcus Callender, “Power”) and Divine (Julian Elijah Martinez, “Prodigal Son”) still runs deep, while the other Clan members struggle dealing with intercity life. This time around, Bobby is dedicated to authenticity and though he knows he can lead his crew through the challenges of the music business, the Clan’s fractures may prove too much to overcome.
Uyoata Udi has been the only Nigerian to be in the three time Tony winning musical Fela! In addition to other Broadway productions like Amazing Grace the Musical. Udi has appeared in short films like For the Record and I Am Vladdy Lipshitz. As well as television series like the Watchmen, This is Us and now playing Jason Richard Hunter AKA Rebel/Inspectah Deck in Wu-Tang: An American Saga season two.
Julian Elijah Martinez attended Elon University and Yale School of Drama before performing on Broadway. He has made appearances in television series like Elementary, Dominant Species and Prodigal. Photography is a passion and is also a teacher.
