In a recent interview actress Vanessa Kirby comments on the Sue Storm Fantastic Four rumors around her. In case this is new information, after several candidates, the latest Barside Buzz is that Kirby is signed up to play Sue Storm as the lead of the Fantastic Four movie from Matt Shakman.
Kirby emerged as the red hot favorite before the strikes even begin, which is why the Buzz is most strong around this role. For the record, the other favorites are Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. As for Reed, that’s still up in the air and could be one of many mentioned names. More below on that.
Ergo, Kirby was asked the question during a red carpet interview for Napoleon, shared below.

Kirby was asked if Marvel were about to announce her as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four?
“Oh, I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them.”
Which is a nothing answer, but what would anyone expect her to say? “Yeah, okay you got me, exclusive for you.” However, if I was to read the body language, that might be another story. Kirby followed up with.
“I would be very honored to join.” when asked if she was excited to take the role.

Add this to the sheer weight of rumors naming Kirby and I think it’s another clue this one is legit. Of course, until they officially announce that FF cast, we can’t say for certain. We heard Kirby actually agreed to the deal before the strike. The others, we heard wouldn’t sign till after the strike had ended. As for Reed, the hot fave was at one point Adam Driver, but since then we also have to add Matt Smith and Jake Gyllenhaal to that list.
Now that the strikes are over, I do hope we get a cast announcement soon. Honestly, this may be the most laborious and annoying casting story I’ve ever ran whilst working with LRM. It’s went on for so long (strikes and directors changes) and there’s just been so many rumors. I just want the cast announced the day the fourth member signs on. Don’t wait for any event. Just bang it on social media and let the internet do its thing.
