Villains should never rely on professional assassins to run around town for various tasks.
As demonstrated in Vanquish, Ruby Rose stars as Victoria, a former Russian drug courier, forced to perform various tasks once again by a retired cop, Damon (played by Morgan Freeman), holding her daughter hostage. Now Victoria must use guns, guts, and a motorcycle to take out a series of violent gangsters—or else she may never see her child again.
George Gallo wrote and directed the film. Gallo has a good background with action films involved cops, drug dealers, and being on the run. He wrote the story for the original Bad Boys movie that spawned into a franchise with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. His other writing credits included The Whole Ten Yards, and Midnight Run.

As for Ruby Rose, she positioned herself nicely as a female action star. Since Orange Is the New Black, action heroines and villains with adrenaline stunts are in her genetic career make up with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, John Wick: Chapter, The Meg, and even with Batwoman television series as the title character. After her injury on that television series, she continued to perform in action films with Vanquish, the upcoming SAS: Red Notice, and The Doorman. No doubt she’s a badass action junky.
For Vanquish, it’ll follow a lot of straight-by-the-book action formulas. However, you have to admit—guns, motorcycles, and her hairless look—this movie is a popcorn flick to check out on your couch on a Saturday night.
Vanquish is in select theaters on April 16. Then it follows On Demand and digital the following week on April 20 and on Blu-ray and digital release for April 27.
