Brooklyn Nine-Nine is headed back to NBC next Thursday. Last season saw the wonderful Captain Holt outwitted by his arch-nemesis Wuntch, forcing him to go back and complete months as a uniformed officer. As with most seasons, I expect the first half of this upcoming season will be spent slowly reverting things back to the series status quo, with Holt back in the Captain’s chair.
But if you just can’t wait until next week to get your first dose of what’s to come, then NBC has your back. On the Brooklyn Nine-Nine YouTube channel, they have posted the first 99 seconds of the new season. It’s a fitting amount of time that manages to get in a lot of jokes and a great cliffhanger.

In the clip, we see there has been an assassination attempt, leading to the Nine-Nine team’s first task of the season. Unfortunately, the crime scene is overrun with civilians, prompting Jake to take off the officer in charge. Surprise, surprise, it’s none other than Raymond Holt.
There are plenty of jokes, and the trademark light tone of the series is alive and well. What did you think of the first 99 seconds? Let us know down below!
