Somehow, Tommy Wiseau manages to pop up in the news every so often. Of course, he is best known for his work on the cult hit film, The Room, which is widely regarded as one of the best worst movies ever made. Last year, he even had a film made about the making of The Room called The Disaster Artist, which showed him in all his awful glory.
This past March, the idea was joking floated that he should take on the role of the Joker, and Nerdist even went so far as to post a fake audition tape for the character. Now, they’ve gone so far as to get him and his friend Greg Sestero to reenact the iconic interrogation scene from The Dark Knight, originally performed by the late Heath Ledger and the amazing Christian Bale.

So what’s the outcome? As expected…it’s not great. But, if I’m being honest, it’s not nearly as bad as I thought it’d be. Every so often, Wiseau stumbles onto a not-so-bad delivery, and he seems to take great pleasure in taking on the Joker laugh. If I were to point at the weaker performance, it would actually be Sestero’s Batman, but maybe that’s just because he can’t nail the Batman growl (which it, in itself, wasn’t so hot).
