Ready or not, here it comes. Not too long ago, we learned that the beloved graphic novel, Watchmen, which had already received a pretty faithful adaptation from filmmaker Zack Snyder, would be up for another adaptation. Instead of a film, however, it’d come in the form of an HBO TV series from the love-him-or-hate-him Damon Lindelof.

Of course, Hollywood has more than its fair share of projects that never get off the ground, and until something films, there’s always a chance that it’ll fall through. Given how big the investments are, it’s almost safer to assume nothing will happen until it’s here.
Well, it sounds like we’re one step closer to seeing a new Watchmen show. According to the kind folks over at ThatHashtagShow, HBO is moving forward with the pilot, and that filming will be beginning in March of 2018 — meaning in a few short months.
Does this mean the whole series is a go? As of right now, no. The pilot could be a disaster, and it could still not get ordered to a full series, but we’d be surprised if that happened, especially given how strong the source material is, and how beloved it is by fans.
