According to the latest Barside Buzz, we may know who Giancarlo Esposito is playing in Captain America: Brave New World and it’s not that exciting. As we all know Esposito was added late to the movie as part of reshoots. Those reshoots have made Brave New World a very expensive movie to make. Yet, at the same time if the original movie wasn’t deemed good enough, then you try to make it better. It’s better for the MCU as a whole to have a good movie even if that movie makes less profit than bad movie would have. Whether Brave New World will be any good remains to be seen.
However, as per the title, we now may know who Esposito is playing. According to regular leaker MTTSH, Esposito has been cast as the character George Washington Bridge.

No, not the actual George Washington Bridge that connects New Jersey to Manhattan. Though, I think Esposito would pull off a really menacing bridge. No, this is a deep cut character from the comics as pictured above. I could just pretend I know all about this random Marvel comic book character. However, that would be a lie, and I can’t lie when discussing George Washington. (It was him that cut down the cherry tree, right? I’m British).

Bridge was a member of a merc group called Wild Pack in the comics. Apparently they were later led by Cable (X-Men) and called the Six Pack. All they did all day in those days though was drink cheap lager and crunch abs… Look, in all seriousness it seems Esposito is playing a bit of a nothing character from the comics. However, that does not mean the character will be forgettable, or quickly discarded in the MCU. Esposito seems to think he will return in a series, and I doubt he’d have signed up for a one time bad guy who isn’t even the main antagonist.
Now, this all depends on the accuracy of the rumor above. You all know we only share those leakers with the best hit rates, but they still get some wrong. Therefore always take any story in the Barside Buzz with a pinch of salt.
