The Addams family is back in live-action form in the all-new Netflix series, Wednesday. On Tuesday (Aug 16), Netflix released our first look at the four classic characters that have become so beloved for generations. Today they released the first teaser trailer for the series, featuring Jenna Ortega as the family’s creepy and ominous only daughter, Wednesday Addams. Check it out below!
I was hoping that Wednesday would spend more time in the “normal” world in a “normal” school. So I am a bit disappointed that she is being taken to an alternative school for this series. But I cannot argue that releasing killer piranhas in a pool full of water polo players is enough to get you expelled. I am excited to see the dynamic between the family and enjoy all of the wacky and fun bits that we love the Addams for.
Given that Tim Burton is the director and executive producer, I don’t mind just sitting down and enjoying the ride. Also it doesn’t hurt that I am a fan of the casting for this film. Along with Ortega as Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones is playing Morticia. Luis Guzman is the great Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez is the youngest son (for the moment), Pugsley.

Here is the synopsis for Netflix’s Wednesday
The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability. Thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago. All while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Currently, there is no set release date for Wednesday, other than that it will be released only on Netflix sometime fall of this year.
