Wes Anderson has a unique style that even the most casual fan of films can spot from a mile away. From his quick, dry dialogue to his symmetrical, flat visual style, it’s difficult for one of this movies to slip by.
This style has even bled into is animated work. 2009 saw the release of the Roald Dahl adaptation The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and while Anderson was faithful to the source material, he also made it work incredibly well in his trademark style. As such, it should be no surprise that his style once again remains intact in the upcoming Isle of Dogs.

In the new clip released, we get to see two bands of dogs fight over a bag full of trash — but not before assessing whether or not it was trash worth fighting over. After taking inventory of the entire bag, the gangs agree that the garbage haul is well worth it.
Below is the official synopsis for Isle of Dogs:
“ISLE OF DOGS tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.”
