What a painful year it has been waiting for Westworld Season 2. Thank God for Stranger Things 2!
Though we will go through all of 2017 without any new Westworld, back in July, a PR overview of the premiere dates for all current HBO series indicated the second season of HBO’s hit show would return sometime in spring 2018. But, last week there were reports that production had been temporarily put on hold after a recurring actor had an off-set medical emergency.
So, is Westworld Season 2 still set for spring 2018? Let’s ask Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood)!

Thanks to a Twitter update by Evan Rachel Wood, it looks like we are still getting Westworld in early 2018.

Scheduling Westworld for the spring instead of the fall, like last year’s season, may be to decrease the wait time between seasons, but a release window of spring 2018 also means the show will take Game of Thrones‘ typical time-slot and March/April window, as Game of Thrones Season 8 is not expected until summer 2018. With GOT ending after this season, Westworld is being positioned as the show’s replacement as HBO’s most watched drama.
