Sisters will do anything to stay together, especially after becoming opioid orphans in the tear-jerking drama What We Hide.
The film is based on stories of foster children separated after the deaths of their parents, who died from opioid overdoses. This alarming trend in America caused an emotional family separation crisis with very little resolution.
What We Hide stars Mckenna Grace and up-and-coming actress Jojo Regina. Dan Kay directed and wrote the story.
Here is the synopsis:
After their mother’s fatal overdose, sisters Spider (Mckenna Grace) and Jessie (Jojo Regina) hide her body to avoid being separated by the strained foster care system. But with the local sheriff (Jesse Williams) asking questions and their mom’s drug dealer (Dacre Montgomery) lurking, their future becomes uncertain. How far will they go to keep their secret?
