Where the Crawdads Sing | Jojo Regina Interview

Jojo Regina in Where the Crawdads Sing

Jojo Regina is an upcoming young talented actress that you’ll see more soon enough. In Where the Crawdads Sing, she portrays the young Kya by providing the back story of the Marsh Girl from her relationship with her dad and her strive for loneliness in the swamp.

Unlike other younger roles in many films, Regina has plenty of screen time that sets up the story for the adult version of Kya Clark (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones).

The film also stars Taylor John-Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer Jr., and David Strathairn. Olivia Newman directed the film from the adapted screenplay by Luck Alibar based on the best-selling book from Delia Owens.

Here is the synopsis:

From the best-selling novel comes a captivating mystery, Where the Crawdad Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world, but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal many secrets that lie within the marsh.
