A lesson learned from any horror movie: do not play with any ancient artifacts that you do not understand.
In Whistle, a group of teens learned the hard way from an ancient device that allows death to follow each victim till their untimely demise.
The film stars Dafne Keen (Deadpool & Wolverine, Logan), Sophie Nélisse (Yellow Jackets), Sky Yang (Last Days, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire), Jhaleil Swaby (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaper, White Dog), Ali Skovbye (Firefly Lane, Once Upon a Time), Percy Hynes White (My Old Ass, Wednesday), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, Philomena), and Nick Frost (The World’s End, Shaun of the Dead).
Corin Hardy directed the film, which was written by Owen Egerton.
Here is the official synopsis:
A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with director Corin Hardy about his approach to the film, creating a death entity, unique deaths, and, ultimately, the star—the whistle itself.
Corin Hardy made his directorial debut in 2015 with The Hallow, a supernatural film starring Joseph Mawle, Bojana Novakovic, Michael McElhatton, and Michael Smiley. His big break came in 20188 with the horror film The Nun, a spin-off of The Conjuring 2 and the fifth film of The Conjuring universe. In 2020, he shifted to television directing Gangs of London and was promoted as a showrunner in the 2022 second series.
Whistle is in theaters on Friday, February 6.
