Marvel and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has always had references and ramifications resulting from the MCU movies that release around one of their seasons. Most notably when the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier dramatically changed the show by having S.H.I.E.L.D be corrupted and destroyed from inside by the evil Hydra. Understandably the impact of these events were felt throughout the following two seasons of the ABC show.
Without getting into spoilers it would be fair to say that the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War could have the biggest influence on the show since the attempted coup of Hydra.
In the April 27 episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D a friend of Mack called Tony Caine (Candy Man) made a small reference to, “All the weird stuff happening in New York,” when he met up with Daisy. It’s possible the character was referring to some of the events of Avengers: Infinity War with this line.
However, one would imagine the events of the movie would have a potentially quite dramatic effect on how this show progresses after this point.
Adrian Pasdar who plays General Talbot in the series did not reveal much when asked in a recent interview with TVLine:
“Yeah, we do have stuff in the background periodically that references and ties into whats going on with Avengers: Infinity War. Yeah, they use that. They always tie in very well with what’s going on [in the movies].”
It’s also worth noting that Pasdar when asked the question had not yet had the chance to see the most recent Avengers movie.
It seems highly likely that the MCU movies could have their biggest impact on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in quite some time given the dramatic events of Avengers: Infinity War.
