Will Poulter Comments On Adam Warlock Casting

After being revealed first in rumors, then by Deadline, and then confirmed by James Gunn later, now Will Poulter comments on Adam Warlock casting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The young actor replied to James Gunn’s confirmation post on Twitter. Poulter simply thanked Gunn and said he can’t wait to get to work. I guess that’s within a couple of weeks given Gunn’s previous comment.

My guess is that Poulter has signed up to a multi-project deal for Marvel Studios. Whilst we have no evidence, I also think Poulter pulled out of playing Elrond in Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show for this Marvel opportunity. As much as playing Elrond in one of the most expensive shows ever made is great, this is Adam Warlock in the MCU after all. However who knows whether that will ever come out, or whether it was actually due to other scheduling conflicts as reported at the time?

I’ve so far seen some positive and negative views on this piece of casting. I guess that is always to be expected. However some of the negative people are using footage of him in movies as a kid to justify why he is the wrong choice. He really has grown up a lot in recent years, so I think fans may be surprised. So far when it comes to casting I can find no fault with Gunn. I’m not sure there is a casting decision in either Guardians movie or The Suicide Squad I felt was off. I’ll therefore trust Gunn made the right call on this one for now.

What do you think of all this as Will Poulter comments on Adam Warlock casting. Are you in the positive, or negative camp here, and whichever one you are, why? Thoughts below as always.
