Today we share an interview with Will Poulter on Adam Warlock casting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Poulter was revealed as Adam Warlock by Deadline, before Gunn himself confirmed the casting. Poulter gave a brief thanks to Gunn on social media, but the interview below from Flip Your Wig is the first time Poulter has been asked about the casting in public. Check it out. The talk turns to Guardians 3 around the 2:10 mark. Though there is also a transcript below if you cannot watch the video for yourself.
“I feel very, very lucky and honored to have been welcomed into the Marvel family. Particularly into a franchise like Guardians of the Galaxy which I regard to be incredibly creative, and very, very unique, and James Gunn is someone I really admire, so I feel incredibly lucky.”
Then when asked about how he’s training to encompass the role, Poulter said.
“I better get ready, better get ready I guess. I’m working on it.”
The interviewer actually begins in this video by point out how buff Poulter has got during Lockdown. I’m sure both of these things are likely to be related.
As we can se in the related section above, Guardians 3 hasn’t begin yet, but it will soon. Therefore, this is pretty much how Poulter will look heading into filming on that movie. Of course, we don’t know what his actual MCU look will be like until see some costume footage.
Will Adam Warlock begin in the MCU as an antagonist to the Guardians? After all, he was created by Ayesha as a way to get back at the Guardians that so offended her people. Specifically Ayesha said he would ‘destroy them once and for all’. That surely means that at least to begin things, Adam is going to be an antagonist. Though, by the end of the movie, my bet is that Adam Warlock will have begun to make up his own mind on where his focus should be.
What do you think of Will Poulter on Adam Warlock casting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. What do you hop to see from Warlock goin forward in the MCU? Thoughts below as always.
