Will Smith Has Seen The Finished Cut Of Aladdin

Just a few weeks back, Aladdin was the laughingstock of the internet. There wasn’t a lot that audiences had seen, and what we did see looked…questionable in terms of visuals. The Cave of Wonders looked kinda blah and sound stage-y, but perhaps the most egregious problem had more to do with Will Smith’s Genie, who looked like a bad CG character with a face pasted on.

Earlier this week, Disney dropped the full trailer for the movie, and whole narrative surrounding it seemed to change…mostly because the trailer was all kinds of amazing, bringing back plenty of nostalgia and coupling it with what looks like solid execution. But how far along is the movie? After all, we’re just over two months from its release, so it can’t be that far from being done, right?

Well, when he shared the trailer, actor Will Smith shared that he had seen the finished movie.

“I just saw the Finished version of #Aladdin!! IT IS FIRE 🔥 I AM HYPED!!! I can’t wait for y’all to see it. But, for now… Here’s the full trailer! :-)”

Now, my only question here is…does that mean some of the visuals will still be improved from that trailer? Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t look nearly as bad as I was worried it would, but the Genie in his blue form still doesn’t look amazing to me. Is it possible the visuals will improve even still from what we saw there? I guess it’d be nice, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
