Wolf Trailer Has George MacKay and Lily-Rose Depp Acting on Animal Instincts

Lily-Rose Depp in Wolf

In the era of sequels and remakes, the audience’s hunger for something new and different. Let’s place this new romantic drama Wolf is a definite new different movie you’ve never seen before. Or at least I’ve never seen it before.

The film follows a young man named Jacob, who believes he is a wolf trapped in a human body. So, he eats, sleeps, and lives like a wolf. With much shock to the family, he is sent to a clinic that should be able to help him psychologically. The facility houses other animal-bound peers that undergo increasingly extreme forms of curative therapies. However, once he meets a mysterious woman, who believes herself as a wildcat—they formed a bond, a friendship, and an undeniable infatuation. Then Jacob is faced with a challenge—will he renounce his true self for love.

The cast includes George MacKay (1917, Captain Fantastic), Lily-Rose Depp (Tusk, Yoga Hosers), Paddy Considine (Dead Man’s Shoes, In America), and Eileen Walsh (The Magdalene Sisters, Nicholas Nickleby). Nathalie Biancheri (Nocturnal) directed and wrote the movie.

Arthouse films are truly front and center this year with Green Knight, Pig, and the upcoming Lamb and Titane. The trailer for Wolf is simply curious and mesmerizing to watch the animalistic performances from George MacKay and Lily-Rose Depp. No doubt the film has a deeper underlying message. Let’s chalk this as a film of interest to watch at the end of the year.

Focus Features releases Wolf in theaters on December 3.
