Wolverine And Sabretooth’s Legendary Feud Continues In ‘Sabretooth War’

Wolverine and Sabretooth are gearing up for a monumental showdown in the upcoming ten-part saga, “Sabretooth War,” set to debut in Benjamin Percy’s run on Wolverine this January. The fierce rivalry between these iconic characters has spanned pop culture history, and now their feud takes center stage once again.

Scheduled to ship bimonthly, “Sabretooth War” kicks off with WOLVERINE #41 and builds up to the highly anticipated milestone, WOLVERINE #50. With a solid grip on the character’s journey through the Krakoan age, Percy is poised to unleash this long-awaited confrontation between Wolverine and his arch-nemesis, Sabretooth. Adding to the excitement is Victor LaValle, the acclaimed author of “The Changeling” and “The Devil in Silver,” who has been instrumental in shaping Sabretooth’s narrative over the past few years.

Collaborating alongside two of the industry’s hottest artists, Cory Smith and Geoff Shaw, Percy and LaValle are set to craft the definitive Wolverine and Sabretooth saga. Each issue will see a unique approach, with co-written chapters by Percy and LaValle. Smith’s illustrations will bring to life the Wolverine-focused segments, while Shaw’s artistic prowess will shine in the Sabretooth-centric chapters.

The story isn’t just a clash of the current status quos for these characters within the Fall of X landscape; it delves deep into their dark history, unearthing shocking revelations that underpin their profound animosity. A feud spanning decades, the “Sabretooth War” is a conflict that ignites when Sabretooth resurrects a deadly tradition, putting those closest to Logan in the crossfire. But this time, he’s not alone—he commands an entire army, ready to wreak havoc.

Prepare for a showdown of epic proportions—WOLVERINE VS. SABRETOOTH! As Krakoa faces upheaval, Sabretooth seizes the opportunity for vengeance. Released from the Pit and armed with an army of his own, Victor Creed is determined to prove his place as Logan’s ultimate nemesis.

Percy offered insights into the long-anticipated confrontation: “Sabretooth is the embodiment of the big bad—cruel, malicious, and terrifying—a perfect adversary for Wolverine. That’s why we’ve kept their stories separate in the age of Krakoa—until now. The tension has been building, and now these savage rivals will once again tear into each other’s lives, delivering what will undoubtedly be the most brutal Wolverine narrative in Marvel history.”

LaValle, enthusiastic about continuing Sabretooth’s tale, shared his excitement: “I’m geeked I get to carry forward the story of Sabretooth that I began in the initial mini-series back in 2021. Even more thrilling is the chance to tell it alongside my friend Ben Percy, a master of thrilling and chilling storytelling. This will be a visceral account of two lifelong enemies hurtling toward their most violent conclusions, and I can’t wait to see the blood flow.”

Percy continued, “I’ve known Victor LaValle for a long time — as a reader and as a friend, his novels are virtuosic and deeply felt and scary as hell. He’s a horror head and a giant comics nerd, and his work on Sabretooth has been brilliant. It’s such a pleasure and an honor to join forces with him on this event. I worked with Geoff Shaw on the Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance crossover. And I’ve been working with Cory Smith on Ghost Rider. They are exactly suited for this project with their heavy shadows and rough texturing and fearlessness. We promise to hold nothing back.”
