Director David F. Sandberg will not suffer a sophomore jinx by being at the helm for Annabelle: Creation.

The creepy doll prequel will be an origin story about on how a dollmaker created this possessed doll several years after the tragic death of his daughter. After the dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several orphan girls into the home, they all become a target from this despicable being.

The film stars Mirando Otto, Philippa Coulthard, Stephanie Sigman, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Anthony LaPaglia, Talitha Bateman and Lulu Wilson.

LRM had an exclusive interview on the red carpet at this year’s WonderCon with director David F. Sandberg. He talked with us about his transition from Lights Out to Annabelle: Creation, his love for horror and more possible horror projects on the horizon.

Annabelle: Creation will be in theaters on August 11.
