According to the latest Barside Buzz, recent Supergirl test screenings were positive, plus a rumored voice role in the film for Seth Rogen. The information comes from insider Jeff Sneider on the latest The Hot Mic episode. Sneider has heard from a source who was present at a recent test screening of the next DCU film. Supergirl will release this Summer, but we are at the stage when we’d expect some test screenings with unfinished effects.
Sneider says he’s heard Alcock is great in the lead role, action set pieces seem ‘fine’, though the villain was a bit underwhelming. He also adds some context on the Superman cameo and it appears like the two may not talk in person. Sneider says he was told there were communication issues with Kara talking in Kryptonian and superman struggling to understand. Perhaps it’s a long distance call of some kind using Kryptonian tech? We shall see.

Sneider also claims that actor Seth Rogen has a voice role in the film. so far he has no idea who Rogen is playing in the film. Later though he clarified that it was not Krypto, after some fan speculation. The film does have a lot of alien characters that could allow for voice only, so I guess we shall see if this checks out.
In the meantime it sounds like Supergirl is in pretty good shape. Though, what Sneider says about the villain being underwhelming is an opinion I’ve heard from other sources as well. Then again, there’s time to fix and it’s only 1-2 people’s opinions here we are talking about. That goes both ways though.
So what do you think of the Supergirl test screening reactions being positive so far? Are you interested to find out the Seth Rogen voice role is this rumor is true? Thoughts below.
