Writer Hasn’t Been Told No… Yet In Attempt To Make Spider-Man 4 With Tobey Maguire

Some new Barside Buzz including Spider-Man rumors on the villain, Ninja's and Tombstones future. Plus, Doom is playing at hero in Avengers: Doomsday.

The Batman co-writer Mattson Tomlin says he’s not been told no, yet in his attempt to make a Spider-Man 4 starring Tobey Maguire. Tomlin, who co-wrote both The Batman and The Batman Part II with director Matt Reeves has been quite vocal about this dream. Tomlin is attempting to pitch an idea for a sequel to Spider-Man 3, presumably to Sony. The film would ideally bring back Maguire and Dunst, plus add some Parker kids into the mix.

Check out what Tomlin had to say on social media about Spider-Man 4.

Just in case you can’t view above,

“Slow and steady wins the race. There won’t be anything to say about that for a long time (if ever!) because it involves a lot of people and politics and things going right that have nothing to do with me, but I haven’t gotten a “no” yet!”

Honestly, I say why not? Frankly this is none of Marvel/Disney’s business and Sony would make money off a Spider-Man 4, especially if they get Raimi to direct. Obviously that doesn’t mean it’ll be a great movie, or the right idea. However, that’s for the studio to decide based in Tomlin’s pitch and then script.

Surely it can’t be as bad as any of the movies from Sony’s failed SSMU? Still, I don’t think we are going to see this filming by next year or anything. 2-3 years down the line though? Who knows?

Would you like to see a Spider-Man 4 starring Tobey Maguire. Are you hoping Sony goes for Tomlin’s pitch idea, or not fused either way? Thoughts below.
