X-Men 97, aka X-Men the Animated Series was definitely one of the most important animated show’s for me growing up. I came across a few X-Men comics as a kid. I also knew a few of the players such as Wolverine. However I was not a fan of the X-Men themselves, This landmark animated show changed all that. Honestly, though the animation looks a little old these days, the stories were great in that show. To have it come back as close as possible to what came before but modernized is fantastic news.

A reboot or making more episodes has been on the rumor mill for some time and it’s great to see that now we finally have a date to work towards. Ok, that date is a full year and still a year away, but hey at least its coming. I also love the 97 branding, because there are other animated X-Men shows on Disney+. Plus we will probably eventually have the X-Men make their live action debuts in the MCU at some point.
