X-Men Producer Hutch Parker Is Set To Produce Venom 2

Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? In the last week, Sony has managed to confuse us, please us, and infuriate us. They confused us by announcing plans for a film centered on Madame Web, a chair-bound old lady that requires extensive life support. The pleased us by announcing a  deal for Spidey to get to play in the MCU again but then infuriated us by seeming to still plan on taking Spider-Man. You can read about that last point HERE.

What is this plan I speak of? The Sony plan to completely ruin everything connected to Spider-Man. Did you know they still have Sinister Six plans? Anyways, how does Venom 2 fit into this genius plan? Well, Sony is bringing on Hutch Parker to produce the film. He’s well known for the amazing work on X-Men: Apocalypse, 2015’s Fantastic Four, and the possibly never-seeing-the-light-of-day New Mutants. Quite the resume… eh? To be fair he did produce Logan (which I think is overrated but definitely better than most X-Men films) and the well-received X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It’s hard to not be sarcastic and pessimistic when it comes to Sony. Honestly, Venom didn’t do too well in North America and it seemed to receive mixed reviews from casual fans and negative reviews from hardcore fans. I watched the film, completely sober, and found it to be atrocious. This all means that I have no faith in Venom 2, especially if they’re going to be taking my beloved Tom Holland Spider-Man and put him in their bad ideas.

Does Parker’s addition to the film give you more or less faith in Venom 2? Let us know in the comments below!
