Xolo Maridueña and Vanessa Rubio Talk About Their Family Struggles In Season 3 Of Cobra Kai [Exclusive Interview]

Cobra Kai

Since the first season of Netflix’s Cobra Kai, it has had a fantastic blend of nostalgia and new fresh faces that can take this series into the future. Obviously, the three teenagers that standout are Miguel, played by Xolo Maridueña. Samantha, played by Mary Mouser, and Robbie, played by Tanner Buchanan. These teenagers as well as others in the series have gotten caught up in the lifetime rivalry between Johnny Lawerence and Daniel LaRusso. Now with the added threat of the nefarious John Kreese.

One character that I wish would get a little more screen time in Cobra Kai is Miguel’s mother, Carmen Diaz, played by Vanessa Rubio. Being that she is a single mother, she is a very hard worker and very protective of Miguel. Initially, she did not want Miguel taking Karate but then was able to witness him win a championship. Unfortunately, she also had to endure the dark side of it when Miguel was critically injured in the school fight from the end of season two.

Here is a brief synopsis of season 3 of Netflix’s Cobra Kai:

Season 3 finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos. Which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption. Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance.

All three seasons of Netflix‘s Cobra Kai can be seen on their streaming service.
