You Know What Movie Doesn’t Have A Funko Pop Series? Die Hard – Oh Wait Now It Does!

Yes, that’s right folks, the title doesn’t lie, someone Funko Inc actually realized that there was a movie franchise that they had not yet made Funko Pops for? I know right, who would have thought they had missed one?

However, fret not, because Funko has gone about correcting this disgraceful error at Mach speed. It’s now confirmed that Funko will be releasing a set of Die Hard Funko Pops just in time for the holiday season. This is perfect timing as we all know Die Hard is a famous Christmas movie, and if you think it’s not, then check out the empirical evidence below.

Yes, the whole Nakatomi Plaza gang are here in festive garb, we have John McLean himself complete with radio, gun and bloody vest. We have two versions of Hans Gruber, we will call them action Hans and casual Hans shall we? Not only that but we get Sergeant Al complete with Twinkies and Tony Vreskiv attached to an office chair with a Santa hat and a message on his T-Shirt. See, I told you we had evidence it was a Christmas movie.

Perhaps my only gripe with this set is the wording on Tony’s shirt, which is not exactly what was in the movie. I’m sure the fans who buy Funko Pops are only casual fans though, who don’t really feel geeky about the figures they collect……Yeah! Top tip Funko, I’d quickly get word to the painters to fix that before these go on sale because fans will notice the lack of the word machine on there.

If you could not tell already from my sarcastic tone, the Funko Pop craze is one that seems to have passed me by, not so some of my fellow LRM writers. Kyle and Nick are constantly comparing the size of their Pops, true story.

I do, however, realize that I am now a pilgrim in an unholy land, as the Funko Pop craze has literally taken over. I attended Glasgow Comic-Con this past weekend with my son, and it was Funko Pop heaven. I think there were more stalls selling Funko pops than there were any other items combined.

Will Die Hard Funko Pops fly off the shelves like other big franchise names? Course they will, It’s Christmas soon, (it gets earlier every year I swear) and what else says Christmas like Die Hard? Nothing, exactly.

What do you think of the Die Hard Funko Pop collection? I’m asking for miracles this Christmas, can someone give me the FBI? Let me know in the usual place below.
