Would you sign up to leave Earth to start your life over? At today’s Origin panel we finally got to see the first clips from the creative mind of Mika Watkins. Origin is set in the near future where the Siren corporation offers people the opportunity to leave their life on Earth and relocate to colonize on a planet similar to Earth. In Origin, a chilling new original series from the producers of The Crown & Lost, we meet a group of troubled passengers as they wake up on a damaged spaceship abandoned in deep space. Each having left behind a dark past in search of a fresh start on a newly colonized planet, they’re desperate to survive at all costs. But as their terrifying situation spirals into paranoia, they come to realize that the greatest threat to their dream of starting over – and indeed their lives – might actually be within their midst…
Origin is set to premiere towards the end of 2018 on YouTube Premium.
The series was created by Mika Watkins who is also set to write the series and executive produce alongside Andy Harries, Rob Bullock, Suzanne Mackie, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.
