Zachary Levi Wishes The Warriors Three Could Have Been Utilized More In The MCU

Time has been an interesting creature to the Thor franchise. I know I’m in the minority, but I really adored the first film and thought it had enormous franchise potential. Not only was Thor himself a lot of fun to watch, but we had the likes of Loki, Lady Sif, and the Warriors Three. It’s those latter four that I always thought had the most potential.

Why not have a film that brings one of them to the forefront, eh? Unfortunately, with Thor: The Dark World, all they really did was further relegate Thor’s companions to the background, pretty much eliminating any opportunity for them to become important in their own right down the line. And then in Thor: Ragnarok, they killed them off. While I love that film, I still think it was a bit of a missed opportunity there to dive into the other characters in this world, and it looks like I’m not the only one who thinks that.

Speaking with Empire, Shazam! star Zachary Levi expressed his desire to see the Warriors Three in their own series of movies:

“I just don’t think those characters were quite utilized to the best of their abilities. Thor and the Warriors Three could have been a really cool little trilogy of team movies, and we didn’t really have that much impact. Particularly not in Ragnarok – I mean, I didn’t even have a line.”

Well, the bright side is that he’s a part of the DC Extended Universe at a time where it’s going through some big changes.

“I hope I get to be part of the Justice League,” Levi told Empire. “At San Diego, Jason Momoa quite literally took me under his wing, put his arm around me and was like, ‘Welcome to the family.’”
