The scuttlebutt right now is that Star Wars Han Solo spinoff has a trailer somewhere out there in the world, which in all honesty is a little big surprising at this stage. Word comes courtesy of Cinelinx’s Jordan Maison, who took to Twitter to share his findings.
“Heard that some Han Solo marketing stuff is done & a trailer cut is floating around. No idea when we’ll see it, but…one exists.”
Additionally, when asked about the title of the film — which has yet to be revealed — he said:
“I haven’t heard anything about the name other than it should be revealed ‘soon.’”
These news pieces are a bit interesting on two levels. One is the idea that a trailer exists. It’s a bit odd that one is actually around, given that they only just wrapped photography (both principal and reshoots). With all the jury-rigging they likely have to do following the changing of directors, one would think it may take a bit longer to get a cut done. But, as he said, a cut only exists. Who knows how many iterations it’ll go through until it’s released.
That being said, it’s also surprising that we don’t have a title yet. Sure, the movie is coming out in May of next year, but one would think they could have at least settled on that by now. But as the marketing machine gets its gears going, they’ll likely settle on something more definitive just prior to whenever the trailer is released.
The currently untitled Han Solo movie hits theaters on May 25, 2017.
