Since Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, the production of the Star Wars films haven’t been the smoothest road. While the films so far have turned out fine, and one of them was even great (in my opinion).
Directorial changes and massive reshoots have been issues. With what fans have seen from the trailers, it is safe to say that Star Wars fans are pleased with The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. Also pleased with the director is Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy. Speaking on The Star Wars Show, Kennedy sang the praises of Johnson:
“I don’t have enough accolades to say about him. He just has an amazingly good time every single day. He’s such a huge fan, and he’s done an exceptional job of taking these new characters, and some of the legacy characters, and moving us to this next place. And I think there’ll be some surprises that people aren’t expecting…he just has an incredibly fertile imagination.”

Johnson’s film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has seemed to escape any problems during production, unlike Rogue One, the Han Solo stand alone film, and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As Kennedy says, Johnson is a fanboy, just as we are, and honestly I do trust him to bring us a worthy entry into the franchise. I will admit the first trailer for The Last Jedi didn’t blow me away, but the second one absolutely did. It is just about six weeks folks until we are standing in line, for me in a very cold temperatures, waiting to see the new Star Wars.
