One of the great parts of the fantastic Thor: Ragnarok was Jeff Goldblum’s turn as the Grandmaster. The veteran actor made the character very entertaining, bringing his own unique style and mannerisms. In speaking with The Toronto Sun, Goldblum was asked about other Marvel characters he would want to see Grandmaster team up with:
“Oh, that’s an interesting idea. Well, I overlapped with one day of Cate Blanchett’s shooting and she’s so spectacular as Hela. I keep wanting to have scenes with her. We worked together on a Wes Anderson movie awhile ago (The Life Acquatic with Steve Zissou) and I sure would love to do anything with her. But, in the comic books, the character of the Grandmaster is the brother of The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro, who I adore. So I would enjoy doing something with him. That would be fun.”

While I would say this film isn’t likely to happen, not anytime soon anyway, I also have to say I would absolutely watch it. If it could be crafted into something that adds to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and not just made for the sake of being made, I am all for it. The Grandmaster was a wonderful complement to what is easily the best Thor movie, and I don’t think fans would mind seeing more of the character.
