Small piece of Wonder Woman 2 news alert!
Or should I say, “WW84?”
Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer, as well as a producer on Wonder Woman, shared a tease for the Wonder Woman sequel on Facebook that most likely supports what we have heard about an ‘80s setting. “WW84” suggests the film will take place in 1984, vs the WWI setting of Wonder Woman 1 (WWI?):
Patty Jenkins also changed the background on her Twitter account to feature the logo.
Jenkins is again directing Gal Gadot in “WW84.” Set during the cold war, Kristen Wiig will play the villain Cheetah. Pedro Pascal (Narcos, Kingsman: The Golden Circle) is the most notable among the few franchise newcomers announced so far. Jenkins wrote the script with Johns and Dave Callaham.

Personally, if I was in charge, even though it may feel repetitive of the first Wonder Woman and Captain America: The First Avenger, I’d have called it WWII and set it during WWII. See? Cheesy, but clever. (That’s why I’m not in charge…) “WW84” sounds like a chemical… or Call of Duty game…
Next up for DC is Jason Momoa back for an Aquaman solo feature this December 21, and Shazam! set for April 5, 2019.
Wonder Woman 2, or “WW84,” is set to also come out in 2019, on November 1.
What do you think the real significance of “WW84” is? Just the year? Is it referencing something from the comics? The final title (God, I hope not)? Let us know in the comment section below!
