You vs. Wild: Netflix’s New Interactive Series Gets Thrilling Trailer

Imagine you’re watching a movie, and the character is climbing on the side of an incredibly dangerous rock face. Now imagine there’s a mountain lion at the top, and you have to decide whether or not the character should climb up and face the mountain lion or descend into the abyss. Guess what? You don’t have to imagine that. In their new interactive series You vs. Wild, you get to make those very decisions.

In fact, that exact scenario I painted is the same one shown off in the new trailer. Sadly, it doesn’t show us if we pick one option or another. Luckily, if you have Netflix, it won’t be long until you can make these kinds of decisions for yourself. The object of this particular series is to help Bear Grylls find his way back to civilization. From the looks of it, some decisions could leave the dude in pretty serious jeopardy.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Netflix has played with the idea of interactive media. They experimented a couple years ago with the kids program Puss in Book, and more recently, the film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch put you in control of an extended Black Mirror episode. You vs. Wild looks like a natural expansion on what Bandersnatch did…with likely less depressing outcomes. For while Bear Grylls claims his life is in danger, I doubt we’ll be seeing him fall to his death or get mauled by a wolf in the show.

What do you think of this trailer? Will you be tuning in to Netflix’s new interactive experiment? Let us know down below!

You vs. Wild hits the streaming service on April 10.
