If you’ve been feeling pretty good about yourself and all the progress you’ve been making in your life in any way, shape or form, let it be known there are tons of creative professionals out there ready to trounce your self-esteem with their over-the-top tangible progress. Case-in-point, some of the biggest fantasy authors out there like Brent Weeks, author of the Night Angel Trilogy and the soon-to-be-finished Lightbringer series.
And it’s that latter series we’re here to talk about. Weeks has been hard at work on this series ever since the first one was published back in 2010 (so pretty much a decade of writing). His fifth and final entry in the series, The Burning White, is set to hit bookshelves this coming October, and the author took to Facebook to show off his GIGANTIC manuscript.

Needless to say, I don’t think that placeholder 650-page description on Amazon is going to be how long this story ends up being. More than anything, this publication will mark the end of a series, and I wonder if the execs over in Hollywood will be looking over at this finished series. In the upcoming Golden age of fantasy series, it seems like a good fit, and with it being done, there is little chance of it going the way of Game of Thrones.
Below is the official description for The Burning White:
“In the stunning conclusion to the epic, New York Times bestselling Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, kingdoms clash as Kip must finally escape his family’s shadow in order to protect the land and people he loves.
As the White King springs his great trap, and the Chromeria itself is threatened by treason and siege, Kip Guile and his companions will scramble to return for one impossible final stand.
In the darkest hour, will the Lightbringer come?”
