The Last Jedi, the Game of Thrones Season 8 of a galaxy far, far away and nice versa. While some fans loved it, about the same amount hated it. What’s done is done though, unfortunately for fans of the same opinion as me, it’s canon (for now, muhahaha).
Director Colin Trevorrow, who was set to direct Episode IX before he exited the franchise due to creative differences has now revealed that he suggested an idea to The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, an idea that Johnson eventually used in the film. Check out what Trevorrow had to say about the matter while with Empire below.
“I just asked Rian if he could include a little moment where Rey and Poe meet for the first time. They’re such beloved characters, it felt right for them to have some history in the next movie. I thought the way he did it was perfect.”

“Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels. We don’t have anything other than passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration might be.
