First it was Ahsoka Tano, then Clones, and now Sabine Wren rumored for The Mandalorian Season 2. Is the main Star Wars: Rebels cast coming to live-action? Read on for more details.
From the outside looking in, it seems like The Mandalorian Season 2 might follow on from the Rebels cartoon. We have already heard too many reports that Rosario Dawson is playing Ahsoka Tano for it to be denied. Though, as yet, that’s not official, for now. Then the latest news was that Temuera Morrison was back, maybe playing multiple roles from Boba Fett, to Rex. Well, now we have a third character from Rebels rumoured to appear.
Noah Outlaw recently revealed on social media that he has heard Sabine Wren is coming to The Mandalorian in Season 2. Outlaw claims multiple sources, but of course, we don’t know who are what those sources are. As usual, decide for yourself how legit this claim is. Check it out.

As said up top, this report comes on the heels of news that Morrison would be returning to Star Wars, (Check related section below). It’s possible Morrison is playing multiple roles given how his likeness is used for Clone Troopers. So is The Mandalorian turning into Rebels: The Reunion? Probably not to be fair, and the general feel is that the Rebels cast might appear in one or two epsiodes only. Big pinch of slat here, but the buzz out there amongst the fanbase is that Rebels is coming back. Though, whether in animated, or live-action form is less clear? I have no source for these rumors, because far I can tell there isn’t one, so take all this with caution.

We have heard rumors before that Ahsoka Tano may pivot off into her own live-action show, hence casting Dawson. We have also heard there was talks about bringing back Rebels and showing what happened post- Return of the Jedi. So what if we put these two rumors together? Once we add in that Morrison might play Rex, and someone will be cast as Sabine Wren it starts to paint a possible picture? There is definitely an opportunity here for Lucasfilm to turn a Rebels sequel into a live-action show. Whether it will happen, or this is all wishful thinking, who knows?
In conclusion I would say that if Ahsoka is coming into Mando Season 2, then Sabine Wren is a good bet too. And if both those characters, plus Rex are appearing, it certainly makes you wonder? Would Lucasfilm do this to promote a new animated show? I’m guessing that’s a no, but it is just a guess. I expect to hear more about what is going on here during Star Wars Celebration. LRM‘s own source at Lucasfilm claims that Dawson will be officially announced as Ahsoka at Celebration. What if the big reveal is a live-action Star Wars: Rebels Disney+ show, with the crew in their later years?
