One of the MCU sequels fans expect to see eventually is a third Ant-Man movie. Now Michael Douglas teases Ant-Man 3 details could be revealed soon. Though, how soon remains to be seen. Douglas has starred as Hank Pym in both Ant-Man and sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp, whilst also appearing briefly in Avengers: Endgame.
So far there is no mention of Ant-Man 3 on the MCU slate, though there are a few spaces left to fill. But, maybe that will change soon. Veteran actor Douglas recently did an Instagram Q&A. In the Q&A he teased that some information might come soon for Ant-Man 3. Though, Douglas also warned he really cannot say too much for fear of Marvel snipers. There was some talk amongst fans that Ant-Man 3 could instead appear on Disney+. Though, I genuinely have no idea where that little rumor comes from, as there appears to be no substance to it. I’ll guess, that if Marvel Studios decides Ant-Man 3 would be best on Disney+, then it would be a limited series, not a movie. I can think of no good reason for Marvel Studios to make an Ant-Man 3 movie and then not release it in theaters.

Maybe fans have looked at how Ant-Man and the Wasp was one of the lowest-grossing MCU movies? However, that wasn’t in any way down to the quality of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Disney decided to delay Ant-Man in the Wasp across the majority of the world due to the Soccer World Cup. While the U.S. was watching Ant-Man and the Wasp in theaters, the rest were waiting for a pirated copy. For most fans worldwide it was either piracy or accept spoilers for the movie. How many fans do you think waited months and then paid to go see that movie in theaters outside the U.S.?
I, therefore, believe Ant-Man 3 would do just fine in theaters. I find no legitimacy to claims the movie could go straight to Disney+, but I rule nothing out at this point. As for when those Ant-Man 3 details might be revealed by Marvel Studios, who knows? The traditional convention season is dead in the water this year. Maybe Marvel will plan an online reveal at some point this summer for the rest of their upcoming projects?
