A couple of days ago we heard Kevin Smith’s thoughts on the fantastic trailer for The Batman that dropped over the weekend at DC FanDome. Now Zack Snyder has weighed in. Seeing as how Snyder was at one time given the keys to the DC universe, many fans were waiting for his opinion on Matt Reeves version of the Dark Knight. Snyder was of course at the DC event as well. When the idea of the film being R-rated was brought up, Snyder had the following to say.
“I don’t know what the rating is going to be but I felt the same way, I was like what the – ? I actually just texted Matt [Reeves] after and I was like, ‘What the f**k! This is cool!’ I loved it, I thought it was so cool. I thought it was like the right direction and everything about it. As far as just a fan of a movie, it’s the kind of movie I want to see, so I felt like [two thumbs up].”

Snyder ain’t lying. At least from my point of view, it’s absolutely the Batman movie I want to see. I think those of us who have hopes that the film will have an R rating feel the film has a good chance to be rated R (I will assume it’s most fans) feel that way not only because of the brutal beating Batman dishes out but that he seemed to enjoy it. The Bat was also sending a very clear message to the other criminals of Gotham City, which was basically the Batman version of, ‘Go ahead, make my day.’
Something in the waaaaaay…
There, now it’s stuck in your head too, not that it’s a bad thing, great cover.
