Edy Ganem found her calling. She should do a lot of romantic comedies because she’s good at these types of movies.
For the film In Other Words it has the perfect plot for a romantic comedy. Boy meets girl. The boy falls in love with a girl. The girl can’t communicate with the boy. A friend helps the boy talk to the girl. What could possibly happen?
In this lost in translation movie it stars Bryan McClure (Mindhunter), Edy Ganem (Devious Maids), Natasha Esca (Narcos: Mexico), and Chris Kattan (Saturday Night Live). Patrick Perez Vidauri directed the film from a script written by Cristina Nava.
The film is described as a cross between Like Water for Chocolate and Sideways. The inspiration came by the wine country in Baja California’s Valle de Guadalupe.
Here’s the synopsis:
In Other Words is a romantic comedy about a tech geek who lands an investor for his matchmaking app. But when his app matches him with a beautiful girl who doesn’t speak English, he travels with his buddies to wine country in Baja California, Mexico, to prove his algorithm isn’t screwy.
