Halo TV Series Moves To Paramount+

The Halo TV series has been in gestation for a long, long time. Most recently we know it was finally under cameras, though, many changes were made in the production team from conception to filming. The show will tell the story, likely before the events of the first Halo video game. Paul Schreiber stars as Master Chief, aka John 117 in the show and it was all set to appear eventually on Showtime.

Not any more! As part of Paramount+ new line up announced yesterday there was a surprise. Halo has been confirmed as a Paramount+ show, and it’s the fist time I’ve wondered how I will get this service in the U.K. Ergo, the power of  popular IP’s to draw subscribers into your service.

There was a brief teaser for Halo shown during the presentation, sadly that has yet to appear online. All we do have is this new logo for your perusal.

Halo TV Series

I’m not sure this was designed just for the show. The design looks like it was taken straight from the games, but who knows for sure on that one? As for the show I am supremely keen to see how it pans out. My only worry, is a show which cuts corners visually and story wise and therefore fails to capture an audience. Hopefully the show appearing on Paramount+ will allow for the budget Halo needs to be successful.

Even if you have not played the games or play any video games you might like Halo. The actually story is one of the best sci-fi universes I’ve immersed myself in and there are a load of books around the games. Some of those books were excellent, some, less so. However the potential on TV is huge for the Halo franchise. Paramount, just has to nail that first season to draw in a crowd. Halo will debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2022.

What do you think of the Halo TV series now coming to Paramount+? As always leave your thoughts below in the usual place.
