The premise of The Tomorrow War is very sci-fi. Check out the official plot synopsis below.
“In ‘The Tomorrow War’, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.”

I have to say this sounds like an interesting premise and something that would appeal to this movie fan. Normal folks being recruited a s soldiers to fight aa war against aliens of the future. Yup, just about right in my wheel house. However I do have questions. Would it not make more sense to start preparing for the said war for the next 50 years instead? What if the exodus of troops that don’t come back reduce the future population further? I’m sure the movie will try to answer these questions in some acceptable head canon way, at least I hope so.
What do you think of this first look at The Tomorrow War? Does this sound like a fun concept for a movie, and will you be checking out tomorrow’s trailer? Any thoughts below as always.
