Honeycomb | Avalon Fast Slamdance Interview [Exclusive]

Honeycomb directed by Avalon Fast

Honeycomb is a summer of horror as five girls takeover an abandoned cabin. With director Avalon Fast, she crafted a psychedelic coming-of-age horror film where the girls set rules and punishments in order to keep their well-hidden escape a secret from others.

It is a feature film debut from 21-year-old Canadian filmmaker Avalon Fast as short in the summer of 2019 on Cortes Island, British Columbia. In the true indie spirit, she used the cast and crew of her peers and friends.

The breakout cast includes the young talent of Rowan Wales, Sophie, Bawks-Smith, Jillian Frank, Destini Stewart, and Mari Geraghty. Fast shed the writing credit with Emmett Roiko.

The film follows a group of girls who escape their mundane lives one summer and move into an abandoned and isolated cabin in the woods. Alone for the first time, they begin to surround themselves with imagined rules and rituals, and as each day passes they become increasingly separated from reality until the dark events of one fateful night changed them forever.
