Breakout star Ayo Edebiri joins Thunderbolts movie in an undisclosed role. The report comes from Deadline and points to the rising star joining the already announced main cast in one of Marvel’s Phase 5 movies. As for what role she is playing, we don’t know. However it is curious that the trade used the language they used of a ‘secret role’. Check it out.

After playing one of the chefs behind a Chicago sandwich shop in the FX series The Bear, has found a new team to join as sources tell Deadline she has boarded Thunderbolts in a new secret role.

Now if you read a usual report from this outlet it would say something like, ‘the role is currently undisclosed and Marvel Studios declined to comment’, etc. It makes me wonder whether the source did give them the character name but told them to keep it secret for now? However, It is also possible I’m reading far too much into that and Edibiri is only playing a minor role.

I have never seen The Bear, so cannot comment on Edibiri’s abilities. However Marvel does have a knack of picking up rising talent just before they explode, so watch this space.

Thunderbolts is currently slated for July 26, 2024.
