The Sixth Reel | Charles Busch and Carl Andress on Comedy and Homage to Classic Hollywood

Charles Busch and Carl Andress adored the classic Hollywood era with its glitz and glamor. The Sixth Reel is their Hollywood homage in a comedic way that dedicates itself as an aficionado towards their golden era and is plotted around the lost 1927 film London After Midnight.

The film stars Charles Busch (Die, Mommie, Die!, Psycho Beach Party), Julie Halston (Addams Family Values), Patrick Page (In the Heights, Spirited), Tim Daly (Wings, The Fugitive), and Margaret Cho (30 Rock, All-American Girl). Busch co-directed and co-wrote the film with Carl Andress.

Here is the synopsis:

When the death of a close friend unearths the long-thought lost final reel of a classic undiscovered film, Jimmy (Charles Busch) a down-on-his-luck movie collector and his social circle of obsessive collectors each concoct wild, underhanded schemes to cash in on a big sale of the film.
