The Synopsis
GRISELDA is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Griselda Blanco (Sofia Vergara, “Hot Pursuit”), who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. In 1970s-80s Miami, Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as “the Godmother.”
The Colombian actress, Sofia Vergara was close to graduating from Universidad Nacional de Colombia with a dentistry degree to pursue a modeling career. Vergara appeared on Pepsi commercials in Latin America. She became a favorite while she appeared on the travel show, Fuera de Serie with co-host Fernando Fiore. Acting came after joining Creative Workshops School of Acting. With the American audience she is known for her role as Gloria in Modern Family, Jon Favreau‘s Chef, Hot Pursuit with Reese Whiterspoon and voicing “Odile” in The Smurfs.
