Well this story is fun folks? Seemingly Sebastian Stan confirms he’s playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II, but now perhaps he didn’t after all? Let’s start at the start, because this one gets a little crazy. French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche spoke to Sebastian Stan recently and they reported that Stan claimed he was playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II.

Now, if you remember the story so far, Dent is the name that was first rumored for Stan’s character in the film. However, insider Jeff Sneider was first to say this was incorrect and that Stan is actually playing serial killer Victor Szasz. Sneider is also pretty sure the main villain of the film is ScarJo’s Poison Ivy and that Szasz is a red herring. This also matched some plot rumors that hit for the film. Though, to be fair those could have been based on Sneider’s scoops for all we know?

What happened next?

Well after this news began circulating fans wondered when the Jeff Sneider crash-out would come and they didn’t have to wait long. I’ve only shared the first steps of this epic rant, so feel free to check out the rest.

Thing is, I’m pretty sure Sneider is right after all. I mean we have literally seen BTS images of Stan with a shaved head. Not really what you’d expect for Dent, but it could be post-Two Face, so it’s not a zero chance yet?

Then, the worm turned again as per an article from TheWrap. The outlet explains that there was no need for any of this drama at all. They say that Stan was actually misquoted/mistranslated by the French outlet and they have already updated their story to reflect this.

So, this hand grenade was thrown in, Jeff Sneider dived on top of it to save us all  and now he’s still there because it was a dummy. Well, if nothing else, it did create some real drama in the geek entertainment reporting world for 12 hours or so.

Where does this leave us? Stan is probably not Harvey Dent and playing Zsasz after all. Imagine the reaction though if we get the first trailer and there’s Sebastian Stan saying , “Hey, I’m the new DA, Harvey Dent.” Unlikely, but it’s not zero, yet.
